About

Muchan Israel

Come join us after Muchan for 7 days serving in Israel! If you have the time and want to travel and serve, now is your opportunity.  If everyone has been to Israel before and seen these sites, we can easily change touring opportunities to more extreme options, like caving, archeological digs and hiking etc. Serve with our long term staff in all sorts of ministries as well as take some time to discover the Old City of Jerusalem, roam the hills in the Galilee and swim in the Dead Sea. While in Israel, you will take part in ministry to Holocaust Survivors through home visits, special events with a meal and music and seeing their beautiful smiles.  As well, we serve the poor and needy in our Jerusalem Distribution Center and cater to single moms who need help around their homes as well as a cup of tea and a chat. You can’t come to Israel and not discover the best falafel joints, drink a hot cup of nana tea and hear some great Israeli music. Who knows who you will meet along the way that you can share your faith with – a café, a music hall or while shopping for trinkets in the market.  Israel is ready to hear God’s word – come and share!

What is Muchan?

Dancing at MuchanMuchan is a conference for international Messianic young people. What we mean by Messianic is not whether or not someone is Jewish, but someone who identifies with the Jewish people and community, and/or who is involved in outreach and supports Israel.

It is geared for international young people ages 18-35, coming from all walks of Messianic life.

About the Theme

Ready to be Transformed

Our past Muchan Conferences have studied together, “Identity, Community, Action”; “Cultivating a Faith that Dares”; and “Ready to Go Viral” (a study of Acts). Now we want to take it back to the core, the center, the essence of our belief – Who is Yeshua and how did He transform our world…..and ourselves!

He was revered, as He should be, and yet controversial in His words, goals and customs. For some, He is the object of worship. For others, He is the reason for persecution. He loved His people and everyone else. He worked with the rich and the poor, the lauded and the scorned. He healed and taught, prayed and raged. He was the most dynamic personality to ever live and He conquered death and rose again. He is called wonderful, Rabbi, good, Messiah, Prince, Lord, the Way, the Shepherd, the Healer, the King. He illuminated people’s understanding about the coming kingdom and how they could be part of it. He mandates those who hear and read His words to share this Gospel with the world. He is Yeshua, the salvation of God.

He said there was good news, that we could be part of His kingdom. He showed us He could heal, that He was humble, and that He wasn’t willing to compromise on the message of God. He was willing to go against the prevailing wisdom and orthodoxy and He didn’t water down the Truth! Yet, He prayed fervently, sought time with His Father and showed all sorts of emotions. He did all this in face of tension and pressure from the Establishment.

He wasn’t simply a tool to provide a path from man to God and eternity. He is the eternal earthly and heavenly King. For those of us who have responded to His invitation, He now calls us to be transformed by Him.

What is it about how He conducted Himself, how He communicated, how He prayed, how He taught, how He humbled himself all for His message, that can apply to us? In reality, learning from God, who became man, will transform our lives every day and will propel His kingdom forward! We are ready to put on Messiah and be transformed!

Theme verses:

Philippians 2:5-11 | Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Romans 13:14 | Rather, clothe yourselves with the Lord Yeshua the Messiah, and do not think about how to gratify the desires of the flesh.

Why Prague?

Dancing at MuchanA Muchan city and country are chosen for their Jewish historical qualities. Our first conference was held in Berlin and we learned about the Holocaust and even traveled to Auschwitz in Poland. We met local Messianic believers and shared a Saturday morning Shabbat service with them. Our second conference was held in Paris, where we learned the harsh realities of modern antisemitism rising in France and Europe. We didn’t meet too many local believers because, in reality, France has a very low population of believers, let alone Messianic believers. We blessed and prayed for the few who were working among the closed Jewish community of Paris. At our third conference, in Madrid, we learned about the once vibrant Golden Age of Judaism in culture, art, science, commerce, literature and rabbinic thought whereas today’s Jewish population is quite low.

Who is Chosen People Ministries?

Sponsored by Chosen People MinistriesChosen People Ministries was founded in Brooklyn, New York in 1894 by a Hungarian immigrant, a rabbi named Leopold Cohn, who became a believer. Rabbi Cohn saw physical and spiritual needs in the Jewish community around him, and he responded!  Since then, Chosen People Ministries a ministry in 17 countries globally.

Chosen People Ministries desires to see Jewish people come into a saving relationship with their Messiah. We have many workers who creatively evangelize and disciple Jewish seekers on the streets, university campuses, in congregations, and around a friend’s dining table. Sometimes a spiritual need cannot be met until the physical needs are met. Chosen People Ministries has benevolence ministries including food and clothing distribution, visiting of shut-ins and other practical aid. There is no limit when it comes to fulfilling the Lord’s command to make Him known.
